Speaker Biography

John Brackett has over 35 years of experience in the computer industry, including 20 years in the industrial practice of software engineering. He is Professor of Computer Systems Engineering in the College of Engineering at Boston University and consults to companies developing large software systems and Internet applications. Dr. Brackett was one of the founders of SofTech, a Boston-based software development company, and later served as SofTech's President and Chief Executive Officer. He has taught software project management at companies in the United States, Europe and Japan, and on television for the National Technological University and the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. Through his consulting work in the United States and Europe he has observed both successes and failures on e-business projects implemented using a variety of rapid development techniques.
