Dr. Paul C. Clements is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute. He is co-author of five books in software engineering and software architecture, including Software Architecture in Practice, Evaluating Software Architectures: Methods and Case Studies, and Documenting Software Architectures: Views and Beyond.

David Garlan is an Associate Professor of Computer Science in Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science, where he works in the areas of software architecture, formal methods, self-healing systems, and pervasive computing.  His research group he has developed a number of languages and tools for design of software architectures.  He has written numerous articles on software architecture, and co-authored the book Software Architecture: Perspectives on an Emerging Discipline, and Documenting Software Architectures: Views and Beyond.

Reed Little is senior member of the technical staff at the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests include investigating issues related to software architecture representation, especially the relationship to and support of software product lines. He is currently technical editor of the High Level Architecture Interface Specification, IEEE 1516.1-2000. He is a co-author of Documenting Software Architectures: Views and Beyond. In previous lives he has developed operational software for the Minuteman ICBM system and was the chief architect for an AI-based planning system that was used to develop the initial air tasking order for the first few days of Operation Desert Storm.

Robert L. Nord is a member of the software architecture program at Siemens Corporate Research (SCR). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.  Since joining Siemens, Dr. Nord has balanced research in software architecture with design and evaluation of large-scale industrial systems. He is co-author of Applied Software Architecture and Documenting Software Architectures: Views and Beyond. He is currently the Siemens industrial resident affiliate at the Software Engineering Institute.

Judith Stafford is a senior member of the technical staff at the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Stafford has worked for several years in the area of compositional reasoning and its application to software architectures. In addition to co-authoring Documenting Software Architectures: Views and Beyond she has written book chapters, articles, and papers on software architecture, its use as a foundation for system analysis, and component-based software engineering.
