Organizers' Biographies

Dr. Rick Kazman is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at the Software Engineering Institute, Associate Professor at the University of Hawaii, and Chair of IFIP WG 2.7/13.4 (User Interface Engineering). Dr. Kazman has been the general chair of EHCI (Engineering for Human-Computer Interaction) ?01, Program Chair of EHCI ?98, and on the Program Committee of many other software engineering/HCI conferences. He is co-author of the books "Software Architecture in Practice" and "Evaluating Software Architectures: Methods and Case Studies".

Dr. Len Bass is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at the Software Engineering Institute and a past chair of IFIP WG2.7/13.4. He was the general chair of EHCI ?98, the program chair of EHCI ?95 and on the Program Committee of many other Software Engineering and HCI conferences. He is the co-author of the books ?Developing Software for the User Interface?, ?Software Architecture in Practice?, and ?Documenting Software Architecture: Views and Beyond? as well as many articles on software engineering and user interface software.

Dr. Jan Bosch is a professor of software engineering at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, where he heads the software engineering research group. He was the PC chair of the 3rd International Conference on Generative and Component-Based Software Engineering (GCSE'2001), PC co-chair of the 3rd Working Conference on Software Architecture (WICSA-3) and the general chair for WICSA-4. Finally, he is primary contact for the University of Groningen in the European IST project STATUS (Software architecture that supports usability).
